Taylor Swift gave fans a behind-the-scenes check out the making of her latest holiday single "Christmas Tree Farm" on Monday (Dec. 23).
In the video, the superstar captures the method of writing and recording the song after inspiration for its title struck on the primary day of December. "So the thought I even have for the song is 'Christmas Tree Farm' 'cause I grew abreast of one; does one see what I mean?" she tells the camera while seated at the piano during a red-and-white polka-dotted shirt.
"So it might go -- these are chords i do not usually use so bear with me -- but it might be like, it's about how, like, you're within the city and you're stressed and your life is feeling really low but in your heart may be a Christmas tree farm!"
Swift also shows off the session laying down her vocals with producer Jimmy Napes (as the pair find out the "luxurious" chords for song's swooning intro), also because the 10-piece gospel choir recording their background harmonies.
After a whirlwind few days, the pop star announces she's able to release the track to the unsuspecting world just in time for the vacation season. "Hi. We're through with the song," she tells the camera excitedly. "It's done now. We're gonna put it out. We hope you wish our Christmas song. Merry Christmas!"
