PENN STATE LINEBACKER MICAH PARSONS NAMED A FIRST TEAM AP ALL-AMERICAN

The post season accolades keep it up rolling certain  star sophomore linebacker Micah Parsons. The Harrisburg native was named to 2 more All-American teams on Monday, varsity linebacker by the AP, and second team by ESPN.

This is just the newest during a series of awards for Parsons. Since the top of the regular season, he has been named Big Ten Linebacker of the Year, a Butkus Award Finalist, varsity All-Big Ten, and an All-American by Pro Football Focus, Bleacher Report, and therefore the Athletic.

Parsons is that the 101st Nittany Lion to be named a primary team All-American, and therefore the first since Saquon Barkley in 2017. Even more impressive, he's the primary Penn State player to earn varsity honors as a sophomore since another No. 11, LaVar Arrington, who did the deed in 1998.

The former five-star recruit led Penn State in tackles (85) for the second straight year, including 10 tackles for loss and two sacks. He was also credited with three quarterback hurries, and three passes defended.

With just two years of linebacker experience under his belt, the sky is that the limit for Parsons.
