After a 10-2 regular season, the Twitter parody Evil James Franklin features a 2019 Penn State rendition of 'Twas the Night Before Christmas.
‘Twas the night before Christmas, when during Penn State,
Not a creature was stirring; for Saturday we wait.
The stockings were hung within the lockers with care,
In hopes an 11th win would soon be there.
Penn State fans all snug in their beds,
While visions of a Top-10 finish danced in their heads.
Fans in their pajamas, hoping they won’t get coal,
As we steel oneself against Memphis within the Cotton Bowl.
A 10-2 season, arose such a clatter,
This was a rebuilding year for Penn State, they simply wouldn’t matter.
With Trace and Miles gone, and off a down season,
The pundits picked us for third and it stood with good reason.
The team was young, but there was plenty to prove,
From the beginning of spring this team found a groove,
When what to my wondering eyes should appear,
A team of young Lions that showed no fear.
The season set to start, top 15 within the ranks,
They knew during a moment PSU was ready then was Jimmy Franks.
The fans were ready for the opening game.
And I whistled, and shouted, and called the seniors by name!
Now Jan Johnson! Now, Cam Brown! Now, John Reid and Taylor!
On, Gonzo! On, Eury! On, Chisena and Windsor!

A convincing win vs. Purdue, then at Iowa next,
Franklin 4-0 vs. the Hawkeyes, the cure for the Kennick hex.
Michigan reception and therefore the Whiteout crowd,
The Nittany Lions jumped up big, Beaver Stadium loud.
The Wolverines bounced back and had an opportunity to tie,
As the ball hit the bottom Harbaugh seemed like he could cry.
Then Michigan State, grant Trophy on the road,
Penn State won easily, the fantastic trophy was mine.
Number four within the rankings, at Minnesota an enormous test,
Too many mistakes and therefore the perfect season was messed.
Indiana win then Ohio State for the crown,
A huge deficit early and therefore the team almost looked down.
But fumble upon fumble, they fought with all their might,
We ended up short, but might be pleased with the fight.
Ended with Rutgers, 10 and a couple of season now we wait,
We watched Wisconsin get a 3rd loss then learned our fate.
Wisky to the Rose and us to the Cotton,
A team once overlooked wouldn't be forgotten.
The future bright again, except for Memphis we prep,
The 2020 season comes after and we’ll take that next step.
